Specialty Coffee
What's that?
Speciality coffee is coffee of the very highest quality. Coffee is assessed in professional tastings, known as cuppings, according to the SCA (Speciality Coffee Association) classification. Coffees with a cupping score of at least 80 out of a possible 100 points are classed as speciality coffees. The cupping score is determined by certified Q-graders. Diego leads the cuppings in our team. He is trained as an Arabica Q-grader, which allows him to assess the coffees. We only use speciality coffee for our eKô coffees. Because in addition to sustainability, quality is also our top priority.
This is where our eKô coffee is refined.
Roastery
We roast in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is beautifully situated between the mountains of the Swiss Jura.
This is where Nicolas' roastery is located. We can rely on the many well-organised and efficient roasting processes of his team. The roastery has everything it takes to produce high-quality coffee. A Probat roaster, a modern packaging plant where we produce our aluminium-free packaging, a coffee laboratory and a newly built green coffee warehouse.
High-quality coffees. For every day.
The eKô coffees all have an individual blend of different single origin coffees. These are predominantly sweet, noble and with a chocolaty, nutty flavour and are best distinguished by the degree of roasting.
